Hi All
CANA has been in hiding, sort of .... as most of you know, 55 Waterloo Street is undergoing major retrofitting - it will take all of one year till at least May next year. So .... for the interim period, we are hiding (literally) in small room at St Joseph's Church Victoria Street. We have made it as cosy as we can but the room is too small for us to organise any event here. So we look to doing things out-of-our-box lah!!!
STORY OF A SOUL is the story of St Therese of Lisieux. We have invited EVA HERNANDEZ, actress not known here but in Europe who, we hear, gives quite a remarkable portrayal of St Therese in a monologue performance. The play was written for her by MICHEL PASCAL. Both Eva and Michel will be in Singapore next month to present four performances.
While in hiding, conversations at CANA continue among volunteers and friends and when it came to the YEAR OF FAITH, our conversations seemed to veer towards ROOTS of our faith. And we have been digging a little - and it has led us back to our grandfathers and grandmothers, many of whom received their faith from none other than the missionary priests - MEP in particular who were the first!! And we are so grateful. So when STORY OF A SOUL came along, we willingly undertook to stage it to honour this Patron Saint of Missions and as CANA's way into the YEAR OF FAITH. So, we present STORY OF A SOUL to you. As part of the event, Eva and Michel will present excerpts from AGAPE - their concert - which is the official concert for Paris' YEAR OF FAITH.

Tickets can be obtained from us in our little cubby corner at St Joe's Victoria Street. Tickets will be on sale between 11 am and 5 pm Mondays to Fridays. If you are not able to make this time, we are here later on some evenings/Saturdays - but you will need to call us to make arrangement for this - our tel. 63364815 or 63364467. At St Joe, look for us (no, not at the funeral parlour) but behind the parish house. There is a passage way between the parish house and the old St Anthony's Boys school. It doesnt look overwhelmingly welcoming :):):) - but we are there!! Ring the bell to the left of the gate and we will gladly receive you.
